Border Crossing

Border Crossing

When you want to keep a party moving, serve a festive drink with a wanderlust theme. We found the Border Crossing, a retro tequila cocktail, in a 1971 bartending book and tinkered with it a bit to bring it up to date.

Ingredients Directions

For One Drink

1 1/2 ounces tequila
1/2 ounce raspberry liqueur (such as Chambord)
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon superfine sugar

Shake all the ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled glass.

For Twenty Drinks

3 3/4 cups tequila
1 1/4 cups raspberry liqueur (such as Chambord)
1 1/4 cups fresh lime juice
1/4 cup plus 3 scant tablespoons superfine sugar
Combine all the ingredients in a large pitcher, add ice, and stir for about 30 seconds. Spoon out the ice cubes. Store the pitcher in the refrigerator until party time.
